More than 1 year after our release break, we are rather thrilled to finally announce a new record. In the past 5 years, Drum & Bass was actually not so much an issue. However, true to the saying "first love, last love”, the music has always been a part of us. And that old friends like the [kju:bi]-crew intensively developed their sounds further, helped us to resurge our fascination for the broken beats. Their demo tracks immediately convinced the label and it was without question that a joint release must be done as soon as possible.

It is the first release together in this formation. The guys have been doing their own radio show Querbass on Radio Corax, for 14 years by now. Every two weeks, the show leads through the Drum & Bass scene and has always been a groundbreaking and innovative voice for electronic music. The individual artists and producers of the formation, Carisma, sH1, Red Husk and Oxyt, look back on a long history of experiences and collaborations with musicians like MC Amon Bay and Wintermute, the latter also contributed his part on the title track “Prospects”.

Their own demands for quality of sound and a variety of selection can be found in the outcome of 3 years collective studio work. With the „Prospects“-EP, [kju:bi] presents 4 eclectic compositions, reflecting the independent style between minimal beats, deeper atmospheres, pushing basslines and slight oldschool-vibes. Even though a coproduction between 4 people can be quite a challenge, in this constellation [kju:bi] proves, that a strong input of all musical characters is possible and allows the creation of the typical [kju:bi] sound.
