about

BTS/NC003 introduces a further member of the BREAK THE SURFACE family. Axel Thoma a.k.a. Okoli grew up near Mannheim and meanwhile lives - guess where? - in Berlin. Okoli is always in search of the perfect sound. As you can hear on the latest BREAK THE SURFACE release, he returned from his recent soundscape explorations with four brand new tracks that perfectly achieve his aim.

Track 01: Moving On Bla // written and produced by Okoli
"Moving On Bla": Forget the words and let the music take effect. Listening to this tune is like feeling the sun coming up, so we do not waste our time searching for a suitable description. We rather lean back, close our eyes and enjoy this marvellous melody.

Track 02: Monotype // written and produced by Okoli
The weekend party crowd gathers again, ready for the next dance exercises. Steppin' is scheduled for tonight, accompanied with the perfect soundtrack for that kind of body movin': "Monotype" - motivating, cheery, but also demanding right from the beginning! As performance increases, the bassline gets propelled forward to the point of ecstasy. So come on! Let's get exercise!

Track 03: Klonk // written and produced by Okoli
Klonk starts off rather obscure. With every beat the tune gathers drive, but the mood remains blurred. With tricky arranged synth sounds, a sonorous trumpet and an organ softly emerging from the distance, the fog clears and immediately thickens again. All the while the driving groove grants no time to breathe.

Track 04: Bebivita // written and produced by Okoli
"Bebevita" comes in with smooth vibes. Along the track it builds up more and more tingling suspense - up to the point where a cheerful bell begins to play. But still there's no reason to get upset: everything is supple and remains relaxed until the end.
